Mechanism sand is produced by sand-making equipment and its quality has reached a level comparable to or even higher than natural sand. Good-quality mechanism sand requires not only excellent equipment but also high-quality raw materials, a well-designed process flow, and proper equipment adjustment. Additionally, material supply, transportation, screening, and washing all require relevant auxiliary equipment to achieve the production of high-quality mechanism sand. So, how can we ensure the quality of mechanism sand?
Quality control of sand and stone materials:
Not all materials are suitable for producing mechanism sand. The raw materials should not have potential alkali-aggregate reaction activity, and the compressive strength should be no less than 80 MPa. Clean, hard-textured rocks without weak particles or weathered fossils are preferred for production. Before selecting materials, tests should be conducted on rock samples to ensure that the compressive strength, lithology, sulfide content, and sulfate content meet the requirements, ensuring the quality of the raw materials. Commonly used raw materials include pebbles, river pebbles, sandstone, quartzite, and basalt.
Production line process:
Mechanism sand is generally produced on a complete production line, which is convenient and efficient. This production line consists of various equipment such as feeders, crushers, sand-making machines, conveyors, vibrating screens, and sand washers. These equipment can be adjusted and combined according to different needs.
Control measures for particle gradation, fineness modulus, clay content, and stone powder content:
Particle gradation: Adjusting the feed gradation, feed quantity, crusher speed, screen size, etc.
Clay content control: Setting up a washing and dewatering process to clean the coarse aggregates and ensure the clay content meets the standards.
Fineness modulus control: Reducing the feed quantity and feed particle size of the feed hopper to adjust the fineness modulus of the finished sand.
Stone powder content control: Using a fan to absorb stone powder and adjusting the power of the dust collection equipment to control the wind speed, thereby controlling the stone powder content and improving the stability of the mechanism sand quality. Additionally, sand washing equipment can be installed in the lower section of the sand-making machine. Wheel sand washers can effectively remove excess stone powder, clay, and impurities from the mechanism sand, ensuring better control of the stone powder content.
