Difference Between Wet Purification and Dry Purification in Steel Slag Treatment Process

The Difference Between Wet Purification and Dry Purification in Steel Slag Treatment Process

Dry Purification:

The dry purification method in steel slag treatment primarily involves the use of a steel slag rod mill. After processing by the rod mill and subsequent screening, the undersized materials are sent to a dry magnetic separator for magnetic separation. This process produces steel particles larger than 10mm and iron fines smaller than 10mm, as well as non-magnetic tailings smaller than 10mm. The steel slag tailings can be further processed using a steel slag ball mill or vertical mill for applications such as steel slag micro powder or wastewater purification agents.

Wet Purification:

The wet purification method in steel slag treatment mainly utilizes a steel slag ball mill with water for grinding operations. The discharge end of the ball mill is equipped with a cylindrical sieve, and a two-stage wet magnetic separator is set up in the chute below the cylindrical sieve. Through the ball milling and magnetic separation, this process separates the steel beans larger than 3mm, iron fines smaller than 3mm, and low TFe content water-containing tailings.

Recommended Steel Slag Treatment Equipment:

1. PEY Series Hydraulic Jaw Crusher for Steel Slag:

The PEY series hydraulic jaw crusher for steel slag features hydraulic protection and adjustment mechanisms, ensuring reliable protection and automatic discharge of unbreakable materials. It effectively solves the issue of steel blockages and automatically resets after iron removal, enabling continuous production without stopping and improving production efficiency. It is mainly used for coarse and medium crushing of steel slag.

2. GMBZ Series Steel Slag Rod Mill:

The GMBZ series steel slag rod mill is a new type of efficient and energy-saving product based on the traditional rod mill technology, with optimized structure. The grinding medium loaded in the cylinder is steel rods, hence the name "rod mill." The rod mill is generally of the wet overflow type and can be used as a primary open-circuit grinding mill. This series of rod mills adopts high-end rolling bearing support instead of traditional Babbitt alloy bearing support, resulting in lower operating resistance, 10-20% energy savings, and over 20% increase in production capacity.

3. GMQG Series Steel Slag High-Efficiency Energy-Saving Ball Mill:

The GMQG series steel slag high-efficiency energy-saving ball mill utilizes rolling bearings instead of sliding bearings. Compared to sliding bearings, it can achieve 10-20% energy savings. Under the same power conditions, the production capacity can be increased by 10-20%.
